Intermittent Fasting 101 and FAQs

Last Saturday, I shared a favorite new breakfast of yogurt topped with raspberries and Sinful Cinnamon Granola by Laura’s Gourmet Granola. I ended up being flooded with DMs for the next 24 hours — not about the meal, but rather the fact that I said that I don’t eat breakfast most days. I realized that many weren’t aware that I try to follow a 16:8 intermittent fasting approach, and I loved that so many of you wanted to know more!

I first tried intermittent fasting (IF) as a way to lose a few pounds, but IF is not what I’d call a diet. Instead, I’ve found it to be a lifelong eating approach that aids in weight loss but also can have tremendous health benefits when it comes to preventing chronic diseases and slowing the aging process. My favorite benefit is that fact that IF has enabled me to listen to my body, learn what my body is telling me, and eat more intuitively. It sounds crazy, I know!

I haven’t been able to adequately respond to all the questions I’ve gotten from followers, so I decided to share this video. I created it last summer to explain exactly what IF is and how it works. I’ve provided time stamps below, and I’d really encourage you to at least watch minutes 5 to 16.
